| Prevent Child Abuse New York's Prevention Network What is the Prevention Network? The Prevention Network is a network of agencies, organizations, and community groups who care about NY’s families. The statewide network provides a forum to unite voices advocating for the prevention of child abuse and neglect; to facilitate education, information and resource referral; to disseminate information about best practices; to foster community collaboration; and to enhance community awareness about child abuse prevention efforts. Who are Partners of the Prevention Network? Partner Organizations are agencies, organizations, and community groups who support the work of strengthening families and ensuring every child in NY has a happy and nurturing childhood. They represent a diverse group of fields including early childhood education, public health, faith communities, schools, mental health, physicians, child protection, domestic violence, law, and family support agencies. This diversity reflects what we already know about preventing child abuse – that everyone has a role in helping families nurture their children and preventing maltreatment. Parenting is not a one person effort – it requires the support of a whole community of people. We all have something to offer to help families nurture and care for their children. By working together, we can help families develop the skills they need to overcome challenging situations in which many parents find themselves. Benefits of Being a Partner of the Prevention Network:
