The Common Link in Balancing Work and Life Opening Plenary Session Monday, April 26 Professionals who work with at-risk children are passionately dedicated to the success of the families they serve. While this work is incredibly rewarding, it can often leave human services professionals feeling overwhelmed and out of balance. This keynote will help attendees focus on what is really important in their work and family lives. Specific strategies will be presented to provide participants with a sense of control and self-preservation while dealing with difficult issues and uncertain times. Attendees will learn how productive change can be an energizing and motivating force in their lives, and how the application of these principles creates balance and energy for a lifetime. Attendees will leave the session feeling renewed in their commitment to children and confident in their ability to balance multiple competing pressures. He is an energized motivational speaker and a leading authority on motivation, wellness, weight management, behavioral medicine, stress management and personal growth. Biography Nationally known, Dr. Pelizza is a leading authority on wellness, change process, stress management, productivity, team building and personal growth. He is a dynamic speaker to over 2,500 business, school, professional and civic groups throughout North America. John J. Pelizza, Ph.D., received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas and his Master's Degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. John received his Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The founder of Pelizza & Associates, an organization designed to help people grow both personally and professionally, Dr. Pelizza has dedicated himself to helping others . . . . feel BETTER and do BETTER—to helping people maximize their personal wellness and growth. John can tailor any program to meet your company and/or organizational needs. He is the former Director of the Wellness Center, St. Clare's Hospital, Schenectady, NY and former chairman of Health Education, The Sage Colleges, Troy, NY. He is currently a Professor of Health Education at The Sage Colleges. John is the recipient of the "Outstanding Young Alumni Award" from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas.
